All surgeries are by appointment only and separate appointments must be made for each person attending. We want you to be able to see the doctor of your choice, but this is not always available, particularly if you need an urgent appointment. This maybe because your doctor is away or already fully booked. If your need to see the doctor is urgent, every attempt will be made to accommodate you on the same day, but this may not be with your usual doctor. If you cannot keep an appointment please contact us to cancel this which will enable us to reallocate the appointment. If you require a telephone consultation you can ring the surgery where your details will be taken down and the doctor will ring you back. A chaperone is available on request. Please telephone 024 76394766.
Our receptionists are usually the first point of contact and are here to help you. They have a lot of information to hand and in most cases will be able to help with your enquiry, ensuring you see the most appropriate clinician. You have a right to be treated courteously, and our receptionists also have a right to be treated courteously by you. Please respect the privacy of other patients by standing well back from the reception desk until your turn.
In the event of Chest Pain, severe bleeding, severe burns or unconsciousness dial 999 immediately. If an emergency arises and you need a doctor urgently when the surgery is closed, your call will be diverted to the Out-of-Hours service NHS 111. Medical advice can also be obtained by calling NHS direct on 0845 4647. Organisations such as St. John Ambulance and The British Red Cross run basic Life Support and First Aid classes.
